During combat, health care practitioners may work with an airborne infantry battalion, a Navy SEAL team, an armored cavalry squadron, or one of many combat arms or combat support units to render emergency medical treatment and transport the sick and injured. The military must also formulate policies, procedure, directives, and medical training programs for both medical and non-medical personnel in a variety of health-related topics.
